Have you ever heard the phrase ... Built Ford Tough?

Well this is the grand daddy of the modern Ford truck and was the first to be built Ford Tough. 5 generations of Ford trucks have been built from the standards set down by this 1950 Ford truck.

When this 1950 Ford truck rolled off the assembly line in 1950, it was the most modern looking truck of its time. With it's one piece windshield and integrated headlight it truly is a sight for the era it came from. Every Ford F-3 was built in Ford motor company's High Land Park plant in Michigan.

With a GVWR of 6,800 pounds and a 3.9 litter 100 hp Ford V8 engine, this is no small truck. The Ford 239 3.9 litter V8 was introduced into he market in 1939 - 1953 to provide a more powerful engine than the Ford 221 engine. In 1949 the motor had a major redesign with a revised cooling and ignition system.

The F series of Ford has been the best selling truck in America for over 30 years, and is rumored to produce over half of Ford Motor company's profits each year. Don't miss your chance to own the truck the showed them how to build something Ford Tough.

The odometer appears to be original and shows 86,164 miles. The speedometer works -- but we are unsure if the odometer works due to the truck not being driven any long length while in out possession. We have driven the truck around our consignment lot, but not a far enough distance to test the odometer.

The wood in the bed of the truck is in good condition and very solid shows no signs of rot, etc. The wood railing around the bed has been recently replaced and is in excellent condition. The body on the truck is in awesome shape and has no major dents.

Details on this 1950 Ford F-3 Pickup

This truck has the original Ford 3.9 liter 100 horse power V8 engine.

The green paint you see we believe is the original Ford Factory color.

The tail lights and brakes lights are there, but are not hooked up.

Truck has a choke for easy starting with its 6-volt electrical system.

The fuel gauge and horn does not work - we have not checked them.

The clutch - transmission work excellent. 1st gear is really a low gear.

Voltage meter works, temperature gauge works

The owner just replaced the master cylinder, brake lines,
and wheel cylinders on all four wheels. Good shoes on all wheels.

Original gas tank -- has a new liner that the present owner put in.

The owner says the 17" original Ford wheels that were on truck can be included.

Condition Notes:

This 1959 Ford F-3 as shown in this ad has not been professionally cleaned -- new owners generally prefer to personally have items professionally cleaned upon their purchase. It appears to have been stored indoors as the body is very sound -- perfect for the restorer in you :)

The interior: please see interior on the pictures provided. Shows usual wear -- (see photos). Updated drivers bench seats with seat belts.

The mechanical: Right hand exhaust manifold has a hole in it. Noisy. The starter button is intact, but has not been troubleshooted. Alternator works fine and new battery, but presently we have jump started the truck as the starter button seems to not work. New fuel pump just installed.

The exterior: The exterior of this truck show regular signs of wear and tear due to it's age, but is in excellent solid metal condition overall. The are two spots on the tailgate with some pitting from rust, the rest of the truck show no signs of rusting and is still as solid as the day it was built. New chrome strips on the grille have just been installed (see photos).

PAYMENT REQUIREMENT
UPON CLOSE OF AUCTION

This is an auction for the sale of this 1959 Ford F-3. This auction closes on a Sunday evening. As such, a partial payment of $1,000 (US) is expected to be made via Pay Pal (or by bank wire transfer) by the successful winning bidder within 24 hours after winning this auction - received by us no later than 6PM (Eastern Standard Time) Monday.

Please note: If partial payment is not received following this auction's end by Monday 6PM (ET) -- 2NicePeople reserves the right at our discretion, to either cancel the sale without notice to the winning bidder, and to offer this item on a 2nd chance to the next highest bidder, or relist this item at auction.
