Description: 1984 GMC Custom Show Truck
This is a one-of-a-kind 1984 (titled) GMC regular cab body on a 1979 Chevy 3/4 ton 4X4 chassis. This truck was custom built, and took 11 years in the making. The chassis and body were both stretched 29 Inches to make it an extended cab, which they did not make in 1984. The dually fenders are not fiberglass, they are steel from a Chevy step-side bed, welded and molded on. 3/4 ton wheel spacers were bolted on to adapt to fit the dually wheels. The dual gas doors were relocated into the rear fenders. This is a ground-up 90% restoration.
This Truck is Equipped With:
- V8 - 350 cubic inch bored and stroked to 383 cubic inch, which consists of a 400 crank and rod, and a 350 block.
- Three speed Turbo 400 automatic transmission
- Dual fuel tanks: approximately 25 gallons unleaded fuel tank each side
- Front power disc brakes, rear power drum brakes
- Front ashtray, front seat dash cigar lighter
- Audio system with AM/FM Stereo, CD, MP3 Player

Various Indicators can also be displayed such as: Turn Signals, High Beam, Check Engine, Parking Brake, Cruise Control, 4x4 (when equipped), Wait to Start (when equipped). Utilizing the gear position indicator will require the use of a Dakota Digital GSS-2000 sending unit (not included). Fuel gauge needs to be calibrated.
Dakota Digital instruments systems also include a Demonstration Mode which will cycle the instrument readouts while the vehicle is standing still. This is especially popular while the vehicle is on display at a show, event or simply displaying the instrument system. Full Metric conversions will cycle between MPH or KPH with the press of a button. Fully programmable speedometer for various tire sizes, rear-end gearing combinations, etc. Built-in dimmer will reduce the display intensity as headlights/ parking lights are activated.
Dakota Digital Instrument systems are normally shipped from the factory with "0" miles on the odometer (see the pictures for mileage showing on this vehicle). Owners manual included.

This 1984 Custom GMC Dually 4X4 as shown in this ad has not been professionally cleaned -- new owners generally prefer to personally have items professionally cleaned upon their purchase. It is exceptionally clean as it is.
The interior: The interior of this 1984 Custom GMC Dually 4X4 is in excellent condition, the tones of color do appear different in this ad depending on your screen resolution.
The exterior: The outside body is in exceptional condition. A couple tiny hardly noticeable paint chips have been touched up - not really noticeable, but need to mention them. The paint overall is in exceptional condition with an incredible high gloss triple color fade finish. This unique extra cab 4x4 dually is a prize winner :)
The mechanical: This vehicle needs nothing known mechanically to be driven. The cruise control assembly under the hood needs to be installed (not included). The parking brake cable needs to be installed to the rear brakes (not included). The gas gauges need to be calibrated. Might want to do a front end alignment. The timing gear is a Pete Jackson - it has a timing chain gear instead of a chain. Completely gear driven. :)
